Biologists visit University of Portsmouth

By Richard Sinclair, Head of Science

6.1 biologists recently spent a morning at the University of Portsmouth attending “taster” lectures on Genes & Molecules; Marine Biology and Cystic Fibrosis. The lecturers made this a good mixture of fun and information. Students came away with a much better idea of what to expect from a university course, whilst also learning about the wide range of courses and (well paid!) careers that Biology and the Sciences can lead to. The Cystic Fibrosis talk gave an up to date review of the latest research into treatments for the disease, and linked in perfectly with work done on the A level course.
