Medal-winning Greek and Latin readings

By Angus Carey-Douglas, Block 5

This year’s Greek and Latin reading competition, hosted by Cantell School, was once again a huge amount of fun, as it is every year. A team of 14 Bedalians from Blocks 4 to 6.2, dressed up in extensively ridiculous outfits, whilst all other schools at the competition remained very serious and in their pristine uniforms. Bedales rehearsed hard for the competition which paid off as we achieved six gold medals in the intermediate Latin choral. However, we were the only people entered in that category so we got it by default, although the judge did stress that our awards were also given to us by merit as we had done very well. We also won silver and bronze awards for senior Latin reading, but more importantly, we had great fun. Many of us are hoping that Bedales will be able to host the competition next year. View photos.
