Block 5 careers event a resounding success

By Alison Mason, Careers Adviser

Despite a gloomy overcast day, there was a sense of much anticipation in the careers department on 4 May as we had the largest Block 5, (and in fact in the end Sixth Form), careers afternoon to date. 22 speakers from virtually all walks of life kindly gave up their time to visit Bedales and impart their knowledge and professional experiences with small groups of students. Each student in Block 5 attended three sessions and the Sixth Form who were also keen to hear some of the speakers attended those sessions which interested them. The result was a resounding success with students having a real buzz and excitement about their conversations and in their feedback. We are enormously lucky to able to draw upon such extraordinarily and varied talent from amongst our parent body and friends. An enormous thank you for a fantastic event and I look forward to doing it all again next year.
