6.1s to create a production in two weeks

Creating a production in two weeks? Now there’s a challenge. This is, however, what a small group of 6.1s aims to do when they return from study leave. The ‘dramatic’ half of the show involves J.M. Synge’s quirky One Act play The Shadow of the Glen. Should Nora accept a life of tedious duty in her isolated croft in the aforementioned glen or is there a more exotic alternative on offer? The musical half of the evening is Homemade Fusion. Written by the first recipients of the Lorenz Hart Award, this musical song cycle was performed at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2011 and we are delighted to give its first UK school performance. A series of musical snapshots attempting to make sense of a senseless world, the show explores the lives of twentysomethings in the 21st Century: a complication of love, travel, sex, loss and candy bars. Suitable for age 13+. Tickets (free) can be obtained from tickets@bedales.org.uk or telephone 01730 711511.
