Lord Winston on humans and technology

Last Tuesday evening Bedales students, friends and guests were invited to hear the renowned Lord Robert Winston speak charismatically and passionately about the relationship between humans and technology. After a dinner at Keith’s house where a group of AS Science students were privileged to meet Lord Winston and have a chat with him about biology, music and Imperial College, Lord Winston moved to the Quad to address an eager and packed room. With his reams of experience, the lecture was punctuated with various comedic, interesting or chilling anecdotes, all of which eventually tied in to the main theme of humans and technology. Time flew by and the audience left feeling very informed, mildly confused and with an insatiable hunger to learn more. Read more.

Bedales School is one of the UK’s top independent private co-education boarding schools. Bedales comprises three schools situated in Steep, near Petersfield, Hampshire: Dunannie (ages 3–8), Dunhurst (ages 8–13) and Bedales itself (ages 13–18). Established in 1893 Bedales School puts emphasis on the Arts, Sciences, voluntary service, pastoral care, and listening to students’ views. Bedales is acclaimed for its drama, theatre, art and music.
