Dr Noel Brehony addresses Middle East Society

Recently the Middle East Society was delighted to welcome a distinguished guest to our meeting, Dr Noel Brehony, Noel has a doctorate on Libya, has worked in the Foreign Office in numerous Arab countries and is also chairman of the Anglo-Jordanian society and the British Yemeni society. Noel was incredibly informative and talked to us about Egypt and the political situation in the Middle East in general, and then more specifically about the past, present and future for the republic of Yemen. He introduced us to some shocking statistics about the country and told us more about its tribes and culture which proved fascinating. Not many of us in the society know much about Yemen, and we were very privileged to have had Dr Noel share his extensive and in-depth knowledge of this most interesting part of the world, for which we are all incredibly grateful.
