‘We are such stuff as dreams are made on’

The final Shakespeare Society meeting of the year took place recently in Keith’s sunlit garden with a reading of Shakespeare’s last work, The Tempest. It was a suitably pastoral affair and as my time here at Bedales draws to a close, seemed to encompass the essence of what it has been. The fact a group of sixth formers were willing and eager to take time out from their weekends to read a Shakespeare play whilst sitting in a garden drinking tea and eating melting chocolate digestives is perhaps a testament to what Bedales does best; the extra-curricular.
