Insight into the world of dance beyond Bedales

A Level Dance students attended The Point at Eastleigh last week for a Dance careers event. It featured workshops from two very different, but extremely experienced dancers, as well as representatives from top dance schools and a performance by Mapdance, a company made up of 3rd year university students from Chichester. Workshops were led by Yael Flexer, an award winning choreographer and Rosa Kentwood, a freelance dance teacher who specialises in young children and access classes; both covered two entirely contrasting areas of dance and challenged us in many ways. The day overall was beneficial for all involved, as it was a chance to get an insight into the world of dance beyond Bedales, as well as developing an understanding for the skills needed to pursue a career within the industry.
