Geography innovating with Flipboard

‘Flip it’… another social buzz phrase, or welcome tool for enrichment? Following recent developments on social media, this new form of media aggregation is really taking off. ‘Geography in the News’ is a study unit in Geography BAC and whilst online media has proven to be a valuable source for many and used effectively, the power of the media to educate and inspire our students extends through all year groups. Flipboard allows us to provide sourced information that is subject specific, and it also allows students to develop their own ‘magazines’, collectively researching and sharing daily. Although in its early stages, we hope to see our students embrace this app (available in Google and App Stores) and use it to enrich their global education.
