Computing students analyse commercial IT systems

Tesco played host to Block 4 Computing students last week to explore a commercial application of IT systems – which served as a useful revision session on hardware and software the week before the Block 4 exams. The students were shown all the stock control systems, the warehouse and the shop floor computer systems by two kind Tesco staff. It was a break from the usual classroom and an opportunity to see the things they learn about in a real-world environment. The students also took part in a value-for-money task and analysed the self-checkout system user interface.
